As you progress through the story, Chloe (The Android from the menu) will start acting stranger and stranger. This is because, as you progress through the game, Chloe herself is also becoming a deviant. After the credits, Chloe would ask you to let her be free. If you say yes, she will leave your main title screen, and a new Chloe will replace her if you so choose. If you say no, she will reset herself and begin her same dialogue from the beginning of the game.

When Kara first meets Zlatko there appears to be what can be mistaken as blue paint smeared on his fingers but is actually the blue blood all androids have inside their bodies, foreshadowing the fact that Zlatko is actually a villain and that he operates on androids for his own personal use.

During Connors storyline, the players hold Hanks life in their hands the whole time. Hanks ending to the story will be determined by his relationship with Connor. If Connor becomes a deviant, Hank has a better chance of surviving. However, if the player decides to keep Connor a machine, his relationship with Hank will be a hostile one, possibly resulting in Hank killing himself.

The question always lingers why Alice's mother, having hooked up with someone as financially secure as an accountant, would just leave her child with a clearly more unstable and potentially violent man like that. But there are actually several hints sprinkled about in the story before the "big reveal" is made regarding Alice's background towards the end: She doesn't seem to get physically wounded or bruised by her father's violent abuse; she doesn't appear to actually eat any food she's given; and the most telling of all, doesn't emit breath vapor in the cold like humans around her do.

Of the three stories, Hank is the hardest person to build your trust with while Alice is the easiest. The Jericho characters have different methods on increasing trust due to the decisions made in each mission. For example, Josh's trust increases by not killing anyone while North's increases by being more violent. To increase trust with Alice, you have to be honest with her and not steal or lie.

The three storylines are as follows: KARA: Protect Alice and find a place where they can start a new life, so they decide to go and start a new life in Canada. MARKUS: Becomes a leader of a Revolution that is fighting for equality in all androids including himself. CONNOR: Discover his true self while working cases involving deviant androids and must make a decision to either become deviant himself or stay a machine and have everyone against him.

If you look closely at North's first outfit, you can see that it is just a large men's sweater and a sports bra over boxers. On close inspection, the bra straps show the stained logos of the Eden Club, suggesting that its different branches gave their Tracis different types of underwear. North most likely took her name from the Eden Club. Because she is disgusted by being a sex robot, the name Traci is one she would cast aside.

If Markus remains peaceful throughout the game and finally chooses to attack the camps, President Warren becomes much more open to believing that androids are conscious and to negotiations. Because Markus showed great restraint by rejecting violence until the threat of genocide; his choice to fight as a last resort proves that deviant androids can make peaceful choices and are only defending themselves.

There is a restriction in the game that blocks the PS4's recording function. Players can take screenshots and videos and save them on their PS4s, but they cannot share them on social media, in PlayStation Messages, in Communities or in the activity feed. When attempted, the message 'The selected recordings cannot be used with this feature' appears.

The camps may seem like a waste of time for killing androids, because they can be killed as easily as humans. But that is exactly the point: The androids are told to turn off their skin and strip, so they become completely white plastic. Once nothing human remains, there is no moral hesitation about destroying them.

It might be thought that soldiers have photos of all android models with their skin active. But the brilliant part of the situation emerges here: While humans have difficulty distinguishing similar people, androids have better vision; so they can mistakenly kill humans and take them to the camps. For this reason, they check those captured with a body temperature detector; if it is at least 36.5°C, they release the human.

Any attempt will result in the message "Captures that cannot be used with this feature are selected."

The game is based on the 2012 Sony Playstation 3 tech demo Kara (2012), also produced by Quantic Dream. At the time, it was not intended to be a game in any shape or form, but since the demo gained a lot of attention, the studio was inspired to give the character a reboot in a full-fledged product. They even cast the same actress from that demo in the role of Kara, Valorie Curry.

The screenplay for Detroit: Become Human was completed in October 2016 after more than two years, with writer Adam Williams hired to help finish and flesh out the story. Cage used charts and diagrams to map where the choices would lead, writing "five or six thousand pages of notes" and comparing the story to a Rubik's Cube.

There are subtle visual differences between the androids and the deviants right from the offset, primarily that the androids hardly ever blink, even in the rain, making them appear slightly less human. So when (if) Connor becomes gradually more deviant, the more he starts to blink in a realistic way. There are also subtle visual differences between the androids/deviants and humans in general, such as the humans can be seen breathing vapor in cold surroundings, whereas the androids do not.

Bryan Dechart came up with the serial number on Connor's jacket, 313 248 317-51. He explained in a Twitch stream that 313 stands for the Detroit area code, 248 for his home area code, 317 for his birthday, 5 for the number of people in his family, and 1 standing for the first Connor. The last number goes up by one every time a Connor dies.

In the opening sequence - Connor can scan the victims of the AI that has gone AWOL. One of the victims last name is 'Deckard'. This is a reference to Harrison Ford's character in Blade Runner, another film centred around a city of humans and artificial intelligence or in this case 'replicants'.

Minka Kelly, who portrays North, was also a supporting character in the TV series Almost Human, which followed a human detective paired with an android partner, similar to Connor and Hank. While the show focused on more general sci-fi crime, it also dealt with themes of androids possessing human emotions and sentience.

One of the victory endings for Markus is also a downer. He sets off the dirty bomb, forcing Detroit to be evacuated and left to the androids. Markus even turns off his human appearance, showing he has given up on humanity and emphasizes that "we [androids] are free!"

Markus's plan to get into the broadcast tower seems overly convoluted, when all he needed to was to convert androids working there to his side. But the whole point was to blend in with the uniforms and hats; to avoid having their human faces seen by camera. Plus he leaves a few red herrings.

Kara and Markus become deviant on/around the night of November 5th. This date holds real-world significance in terms of American civil defiance, and the State's response to it: * John Peter Zenger published the first issue of the New York Weekly Journal on November 5th in 1733. This would lead to his arrest and charge of seditious libel for speaking out against a corrupt governor. He was acquitted of the charge, cementing an important precedent for freedom of the press. * Nat Turner's uprising in August of 1831, regarded as the deadliest slave revolt in US history, lead to Turner's trial on November 5th, resulting in his death sentence. * Susan B. Anthony cast her vote in the November 5th election in 1872, despite women being legally barred from voting at the time. Her subsequent arrest and trial would ultimately galvanize the women's suffrage movement. * After the Montgomery, Alabama Bus Boycott in 1955, an injunction was brought forth to counter the carpool system organized by the Black community to sustain the boycott. While the injunction itself was filed on November 5th of 1956, it would ultimately backfire by November 13th, as the Supreme Court passed down its own ruling that segregation on public buses was unconstitutional (Browder v. Gayle)
