In 1984, while the band Hanoi Rocks was on a tour break because singer Michael Monroe had injured his ankle, some members of Hanoi Rocks went to Vince's house for a party. Vince and Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley went to buy more liquor. Although he was already drunk, Vince drove. On the way back Vince sped and lost control of the car, causing a horrific collision with another vehicle. Razzle died instantly, and two people in the other car were seriously injured and left with lifelong complications from those injuries.
