Angel Eyes (2001) was filmed in Chicago, Illinois, USA; Elora, Ontario, Canada; and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Although the story is set in Chicago, the film includes several very clear shots of the Toronto skyline, including Toronto's highly recognizable CN Tower, as well as other recognizable Toronto landmarks such as the Honest Ed's store, the Sam the Record Man neon sign and a TTC streetcar. The scenes inside and around Sharon's parents' house were filmed at the Playter Farmhouse, a historic building near Danforth Avenue in Toronto. Some scenes were filmed in the village of Elora, Ontario, and at Elora Gorge.

Shortly before the film's release, there were numerous emails between Jennifer Lopez's manager at Rowan & Cowan, Lucille LaSueur, and Warner Bros. Publicity director Martha Hudson was alleged to have leaked them. In return, LaSueur demanded that all references to Lopez be changed to J. Lo, that all promotional and marketing materials be reshot and altered to reflect this, and that the studio cover the costs. It later emerged that the emails had been produced entirely for a satirical article titled "Hell Hath No Fury Like J. Lo's Magical Butt," published on the now-defunct website ifilm.com a few days before the film's release. Several clues pointed to the email chain's satirical nature (for example, Rowan & Cowan's email address is not in the correct format; Lucille LeSueur was the real name of film legend Joan Crawford), but the story was reduced to urban-legend status.
