Filming was halted in April 2018 because KriArj Entertainment failed to pay its dues. Later, in June 2018, producer Vashu Bhagnani claimed rights over the film because of a deal with KriArj Entertainment that the film's current producer, Bhushan Kumar, rejected. Bhushan Kumar had taken the film from Prerna Arora, the owner of KriArj Entertainment.

Narayan Singh, along with writers Siddharth and Garima, did extensive research to preserve the authenticity the film needed. Because the film is set in Uttarakhand, the characters speak Garhwali, the state's local dialect. To keep the essence of the story intact, the film was shot largely in the city of Tehri in Uttarakhand.
