Early in the film, the team flies to an air base in Italy. In reality the air base is actually Moffett Field. Located in Mountain View, California, in the South Bay, it is a decommissioned Navy airfield. It is easily recognized by the two hangars on the right and the large hangar on the left. The giant hangars were built during World War II to house military airships. As of now, the base is home to the California National Guard maritime rescue squadron and NASA Ames research.
