The scene in which Johny Lever laughs in different styles and mocks Shah Rukh Khan, while Hrithik Roshan stands beside him smiling, is an inside joke referring to the Cola wars between the two stars. Hrithik endorsed Coke, while Shahrukh endorsed Pepsi. Hrithik was mocked in a Pepsi commercial, which caused great anger among his fans and received wide coverage in the media.

The film was planned to be an art film. However, Khalid Mohamed decided to commercialize it due to pressure from distributors. A dance number was added for Karishma Kapoor. The Johnny Lever park scene was added. More songs were added. Hrithik's role was expanded, including his work and more songs.
