Anu Malik, who created the original "Neend Churai Meri" song in Ishq (1997), was unhappy with his nephew Amaal Malik for recreating the song without his permission and did not even mention that he was involved as the original composer in the film. However, Amaal Malik explained that he did not need his permission because they had acquired the rights to Linear's original English song "Sending All My Love."
