St. Helens, Oregon, is where the original "Halloweentown" was filmed, and it welcomes tourists. In fact, to celebrate the October holiday and let fans of the film explore the town, they hold a month-long Spirit of Halloweentown event. They even try to recreate parts of the set, such as the giant pumpkin lantern in the town square.

Halloweentown was filmed in the small Oregon towns of Scappoose and St. Helens. The pumpkin in the Halloweentown square was given to the city of St. Helens and is displayed in the town square every Halloween during the Spirit of Halloweentown celebrations.

According to Kimberly J. Brown, the flaming hair dryer that Marnie accidentally picks up was filled with real flames and involved no special effects.

Kimberly J. Brown, who plays Marnie, confirmed that the film was going to end differently. Instead of putting the talisman in the pumpkin lantern to save Aggie and Gwen, Marnie had to walk into the forest. Each time she went deeper, her face slowly aged. Kimberly said the writers changed the ending while she was in the process of having a mold made of her face for the facial prosthesis. Kimberly should keep the mold of her face, which she still has.

Although there are four Disney Channel Original Movies in the "Halloweentown" series, many actors appeared in only a few of them. It is noted that the only actors who appeared in all the "Halloweentown" films are Debbie Reynolds as Agatha Cromwell, Judith Hoag as Gwen Cromwell and Joey Zimmerman as Dylan Cromwell.

Unlike Mary Poppins, Debbie Reynolds floats down toward the sidewalk with an umbrella from the bus that carries her away from Halloweentown. Before Julie Andrews was cast, Reynolds had been considered for the role.

Jim Becker was supposed to play the Ice Cream Shop Yeti. Roger Petan and Jim arrived at the wardrobe rehearsal at the same time. The customers noticed that Jim did not fit the Yeti costume, Roger did, and Roger became the Yeti while Jim became the elegant Mayor.

Coincidentally, Debbie Reynolds's late close friend Agnes Moorehead was named 'Aggie' and also played a magical grandmother on Bewitched (1964).
