When Bourne opens the old Treadstone files, the first entry in his records says he joined "Special Forces Delta." In the original Robert Ludlum novel, David Webb joined the US Special Forces after losing his family in a war. He was assigned to take charge of the "hit-squad" soldiers who carried out "Operation Medusa." His code name was "Delta." Halfway through the operation, he discovered a mole in his team: an Australian double agent named "Jason Bourne." Delta confronted Bourne and shot him in the head before the betrayal was confirmed. Once it was confirmed, the death was covered up and Bourne's identity was shrouded in mystery, ultimately leading David Webb to take that identity when he joined Treadstone.

The armored SWAT vehicle that shreds cars on the Strip was a lighter model from Real McCoy, with a ramp hidden from camera view at its front to help launch cars upward as it passes between them. A real SWAT vehicle would have no trouble slicing sedans like a meat slicer, but at several tons it is too heavy to keep up with the speed of a Dodge Charger.
