The scene in which Gladys Foster, played by Jeanette Miller and possessed by a malevolent angel, crawls along the diner's ceiling and savagely bites Sandra's husband Howard on the neck resembles a scene from Exorcist III Legion (1990) 20 years earlier, in which a demon-possessed catatonic old woman, played by Nina Hansen, crawls along the ceiling above Lieutenant Bill in a psychiatric ward in Georgetown. Kinderman (George C. Scott) implies the fact that he apparently killed a nurse.
