In the scene where Sabine, played by Emma de Caunes, falls into a deep sleep in the car, she moves her body, leans against the window and snores loudly. Emma really was snoring, raising the question of whether the scene could be believable and whether it was possible to actually be put to sleep. The managers approved her request and she took a sleeping pill. However, she did not know that she snored on camera and was very embarrassed by the window/snoring moment.

Mr. Bean's first name is revealed to be "MR", as seen in a brief glimpse of his passport. This is consistent with the original Mr. Bean (1990) series, where he frequently had to add his name to various official documents and always wrote "Mr." in the "first name" bracket. There was a persistent rumor in some of his TV series or films that Bean's first name was Rowan, as it is for Rowan Atkinson, but no specific quote or screenshot was provided to support the "Rowan" rumor, so it is probably not true. Bean's first name is still "Mr."
- #005
The title is a reference to Les Vacances de M. Hulot (1953) (Mr. Hulot's Holiday). Rowan Atkinson had stated in the past that Hulot influenced Bean.
- #006
The last Mr. Bean story. Rowan Atkinson decided this would be the last time he would play Mr. Bean, because he felt he was too old to play Mr. Bean and that it was time to move on from the role. However, Atkinson would play Mr. Bean again at the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony "Bondi Rescue" and in the 2015 "Comic Relief" sketch celebrating the series' 25th anniversary.

Before the final title "Mr. Bean's Holiday" was decided, the original working title was "Bean 2", and another name the producers considered was "French Bean".
- #008
When they filmed Mr. Bean, Stefan and Sabine arriving at the Cannes Film Festival, people in the crowd were shouting Emma de Caunes's real name, unaware that the actress was shooting a new Mr. Bean film and that she and Rowan Atkinson were actually not attending the film festival because they were doubled for the scene by an unknown female actress.

The scene in which Stefan says "Damn" in Russian and the man jumps off the bridge was edited on Disney Channel.

Accidentally dropped off at La Défense by a Paris taxi, Bean decides to follow his compass and walk in a straight line toward Gare de Lyon. In real life this is a walk of about 2.5 hours (12 km). A taxi ride from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon would take about 15 minutes (4.5 km). It is also worth noting that the taxi takes Bean on a rather long "scenic" route, since on this route the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe are seen as it passes by. All of these monuments (except the Arc de Triomphe) are well south of the "ideal" taxi route from Gare du Nord to La Défense.
- #011
Although Maxim Baldry speaks Russian, he was dubbed in the Russian version by another actor because his pronunciation was judged to be imperfect.
- #012
Max Baldry's character Stephan is Russian. In real life, Max Baldry had lived in Russia for the first few years of his life until he moved to England in 2003.

Famous actor/director Mel Gibson was the first choice for the actor/director Carson Clay.

The wonderful aria Mr. Bean pretends to sing in the market scene is "O mio Babbino caro" from Giacomo Puccini's opera "Gianni Schicchi". This aria can also be heard in the soundtracks of The White House, Prizzi's Honor, A Room with a View and many more films.
- #015
The bicycle scene was the hardest part Rowan Atkinson ever shot.
- #016
Just as in Bean (1997), this film repeats a joke from the original Mr. Bean (1990) series. In Bean (1997), he cheers up a sick boy on a plane and accidentally causes his (full) motion sickness bag to burst over the other passengers. In this film, he finds creative ways to hide food he does not like in a restaurant so that it looks to the offensive waiters as if he has eaten it. In the series he hides a plateful of steak tartare in many different places, including a lady's handbag. This joke is repeated in this film with just a plate of fruit. Bean collects several oysters in his apron and then throws them all into a woman's handbag.
- #017
At the beginning of the film, as Mr. Bean gets into the taxi, you can see in the background a policeman wrestling with a man and then putting a man into a police car.
- #018
Mr. Bean's video camera is a Sony Handycam Wide LCD DCR-HC96E Memory Stick MiniDV video camera with 3.0 megapixels.

- #022
The image of the French Riviera used in the church raffle is actually Cala Galdana in Menorca.
- #023
Irma Gobb does not appear in this film. It can be assumed, however, that she and Mr. Bean broke up on Christmas Day 1992, after he failed to get her the engagement ring she wanted and she was left disappointed.
- #024
In the film, Mr. Bean finds himself in a situation similar to Mind the Baby, Mr. Bean (1993), in which Mr. Bean accidentally separates a baby from its mother and keeps the baby occupied when he goes on a fairground ride. In the film, when Mr. Bean lets Emil record him with his DVD camera, Mr. Bean accidentally causes Stephan to be separated from his father, Emil.

The Millau Viaduct on the A75 was used for a feature film for the first time. It opened in 2004 and was designed by the British architect Sir Norman Foster and the French structural engineer Michel Virlogeux.

Simon McBurney was originally going to write the film's screenplay, but Rowan Atkinson stated that he wrote it himself together with Richard Curtis, the co-creator of Mr. Bean; the final screenplay was instead written by Hamish McColl and Robin Driscoll (also one of the writers on the TV series); McBurney wrote the film's story instead and served as one of the film's executive producers alongside Curtis.

- #029

- #030

- #031
It takes place about 10 years after Mr. Bean arrived in Los Angeles.

After Bean and Stefan arrive in Avignon and Stefan says he is hungry, the film cuts to the town of Cavaillon, about 35 km east of Avignon (roughly half an hour by car). The famous "O Mio Babbino Caro" scene takes place here. When Bean misses his bus and chases the chicken farmer with the bus ticket as far as Oppède Le Vieux (where the Second World War scene takes place), it would be more realistic 12 km further east. The final inconsistency is the road to Cannes: while Bean appears to drive all night, Oppède Le Vieux and Cannes are 212 km apart, or a full two-and-a-half-hour drive on the motorway. However, since they pass the Viaduc de Millau, 270 km west of Oppède Le Vieux, it can be assumed that they are travelling on a completely fictional timeline (heading east, toward Cannes).

The film has acts. Act I is Mr. Bean's arrival at the church (0:00:49). Act II depicts Mr. Bean waking up on set (0:45:46), and Act III depicts the arrival of Emil and Carson Clay in Cannes (1:02:23).

Imcdb.org claims that the moped of the old man Mr. Bean tries to hitch a ride from is a 1971 VeloSolex 5000 because it has whitewall tires. However, because it is black and has a black engine with the light mounted on it, it is actually a VeloSolex 3800. The 5000 model has a white engine, the light is mounted on the handlebars, and it is available only in white, blue, orange and yellow.
