The bungee jumping bridge is referred to in the film as the Vinton Street Bridge, a fictional bridge. The real location is Doube's Trestle Bridge (also known as the Orange Corners Trestle), located near Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, where the film was shot. It was originally built in 1883 for the Canada Midland Railway. At that time it was a wooden structure about 450 meters long. Later the middle section was converted to a steel structure to support heavier trains. It is about 200 meters long and rises 30 meters above the Buttermilk Creek valley. The last train crossed the bridge in 1978. Today it serves as an iconic landmark for hikers and cyclists as part of the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail, thanks to the panoramic views offered by the valley and the region's geological formations (drumlins).
