As a result, 80% of the shooting outside the UK took place in Colombia and only 20% in Peru. The production also used Black Park near Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire and Berrybush Farm to recreate the bears' home. These choices sparked debate in the Peruvian film industry and among fans of previous Andes films.
