The film received the most prestigious honor from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Library, which included the "Rock On!" screenplay as part of the Oscar Library.

A series of live concerts was held in Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata to promote the film. At the concerts, Farhan Akhtar performed on stage first alongside Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the trio who composed the film's music. The rest of the cast also took the stage.

To give the film and its characters authenticity, the actors received personalized training while portraying the band members. Purab Kohli trained on drums with Lindsay D'Mello, Arjun Rampal trained with Chandresh of the band 'Dream out Loud', Luke Kenny worked with Loy, and Farhan trained with Shankar for vocals and with Ehsaan for rhythm guitar.
