Jason Alexander, famous for Seinfeld, had a small role as a store clerk in this film. During an armed robbery in Rome, Georgia, while shopping in an area that turned out to be not very safe, a gun was pressed against the back of his head. Not knowing what was pressing against his head, Alexander twisted, reached back, grabbed the robber's hand and arm, and pulled forward just as the robber began to fire. Alexander claims he managed this thanks to his many years of martial arts training. He was not injured as he pulled the gun from the man's hand before fleeing the scene, and he managed to break the man's arm and a finger. Alexander has told this story in various interviews, notably on Kevin Pollak's podcast number 86.
