On the wall of the castle there are several portraits of ancient vampires, including one of Vlad the Impaler, also known as Dracula.

Producer Len Wiseman says the ending of Underworld: Blood Wars (2016) was left open, which will lead into the beginning of the series' sixth film. It is said that Kate Beckinsale will also appear in the next film for the last time. The premiere date, director, plot and title of the sixth film have not yet been confirmed.

Peter Andersson's character is named "Vidar," the modern Swedish form of the Old Norse god "Vithar." In Norse mythology, Vithar is the son of Odin, and his destiny is to kill the monstrous wolf Fenrir at Ragnarök. The naming is therefore a clear reference to Vidar's role as the lycan enemy in the film.

While previous productions in the series had a distinctly Eastern European atmosphere, this film has Nordic touches, with a Scandinavian vampire council and characters bearing names such as "Marius," "Lena" and "Vidar," which are very popular in Norway and Sweden.
