    In March 1960, MGM cast Haya Harareet in a planned film about Charlemagne. She was to play a passionate woman caught in a love triangle with the Frankish ruler and his son. The epic, a Ted Richmond production, was to be "the first story-film ever to be made in Cinerama". The studio hoped to begin shooting later that year in a foreign country with a cast of thousands headed by famous actors. In April, Harareet, Robert Douglas and George Hamilton made screen tests directed by Richard Thorpe. In the early 1960s the film was postponed and eventually cancelled, and Harareet left the studio.
