    Om Puri had an elder brother named Ved Puri. Ved had four sons who came to live with Om in Bombay. The eldest son, Bobby, was a trainee chef at the Horizon Hotel in Juhu. Bobby later worked as a chef at the Shantai Hotel in Pune, then decided to try his hand in real estate; he now lives in Pune with his wife and son. Ved Puri's second son is Vicky Puri, who is married, has a daughter and manages a resort in Pune. Ved's third son, Yash Ved Puri (Rinku), worked in the special effects department of television; Yash worked on Mahabharat and also wrote an episode for the series CID. Yash died of a heart attack in 2014 at the age of 40; he was dancing at a party when he suffered the attack, and he left behind a wife and 2 children. Ved Puri's fourth son is Rocky Puri, who works as a chef at the famous Indigo restaurant in Bombay.
