    Lindsay's mother died on Millennium New Year's Eve. She suffered a heart attack during a phone call, so he went to see her immediately; she held on until he arrived, smiled at him and died. During the car journey he had many childhood memories he had not previously been able to access. As a result, he is writing his autobiography, which he has said will be a catharsis for the experience of losing his mother.
