Candy Montgomery mentions going to the "Plano Target" several times throughout the series. Though this may seem anachronistic, the first Target store in Plano, Texas (one town over from where Wylie, Texas is located) opened in 1976 at 120 W. Parker Road. Since the series is set in 1980, it is highly likely that the real Candy Montgomery shopped at the Plano Target. As of 2022, the store is still open.
