In Decker Season 2, episode 2, while Decker sings, you can spot a blink-and-you'll-miss-it camera cell of Gregg Turkington as a bar owner. This makes Gregg Turkington the only actor to play two separate roles in any season of Decker.

In the season 2 finale, Decker sets fire to all the tapes used in the series, since any of them could potentially be linked to terrorists. In reality those tapes belonged to actor Gregg Turkington (Kington), and because he was unaware that Tim Heidecker planned to burn them, the devastated look on his face was genuine.

The third season, Decker vs. Dracula, is no longer considered canon because the series could not be completed due to creative differences between star Tim Heidecker and director Gregg Turkington. The new series Decker: Unclassified is regarded as the series following Decker: Port of Hawaii.

In the second season, Decker is held captive, eventually frees himself from his bonds and begins waterboarding one of the terrorists holding him. As a result, the terrorist commits suicide by shooting himself fatally in the head. If you look closely at the blood splattered on the wall behind the terrorist, you will notice it forms a shape/image resembling the American flag.

Decker is a sister production to On Cinema, another Adult Swim series starring and created by Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington. Some of the jokes in the series are interconnected between the two shows. For example, in On Cinema, Gregg plays himself as a nerdy film buff who collects VHS tapes and carefully catalogues them with a code. In Decker's second season, the title character collects and burns Gregg's entire collection. This was interpreted in On Cinema as Tim believing they were "fakes." In On Cinema's S5 EP2, Tim directs Gregg in a strange interview in front of a green screen; this is actually a trick by Tim's character to get Gregg to fill in lines for his Decker show in S1 EP3.

In the "Global Hoax" episode, global warming was proven beyond any doubt to be a hoax. Heidecker accomplished this by showing that even though "scientists" say the world is warming, there is still snow. He reveals this to be a hoax created by Mike Love, or one of the Beach Boys, who are not the real hoax.
