A real Operation Paperclip was carried out by the US government. Among all the Nazi German scientists, Wernher von Braun worked on Nazi Germany's rocket development program. During World War II he helped design and develop the V-2 rocket at Peenemünde. After the war, he was secretly moved to the United States along with about 1,600 German scientists, engineers and technicians as part of Operation Paperclip. He worked on a medium-range ballistic missile program for the United States Army and developed the rockets that launched Explorer 1, the first United States space satellite. Many of NASA's Nazi scientists were working at Cape Canaveral at the same time as African-American mathematicians such as Katherine Johnson, who is featured in the film Hidden Figures (2016). Kurt H. Debus, a former SA and SS member, was Cape Canaveral's first launch supervisor and was influential in the design of the Saturn V that took Apollo to the Moon. He had previously worked on the V2 rockets that terrorized London.

Eva Braun's relationship with Hitler was largely kept secret. She was never seen in public and was kept away from photographs as much as possible. For this reason, it is entirely plausible that she could have stayed hidden in plain sight years later, as depicted in the series.

Meyer Offerman, who is revealed at the end of Season 1 to be a former Nazi, uses the words "Hashem" and "God" interchangeably in Season 2 depending on whom he is talking to. Observant Jews tend to refer to God as "Hashem" because God or Adonai (another name for God) should not be spoken outside of prayer. Meyer uses "Hashem" when talking to Jewish people and maintaining his false identity. But when Meyer talks to other former Nazis, he takes off his mask and uses the word "God."
