   Debby Ryan said she was initially not interested in auditioning for this series because she had left television and wanted to make only films. However, she grew frustrated after a series of disappointing auditions for films with one-dimensional characters or that required nudity. She then began hearing how much her colleagues in the industry liked the Insatiable script and decided to give it a chance. While auditioning for the role, she and series creator Lauren Gussis formed an emotional connection, and she was eventually cast.
