On May 10, 2019, it was announced that the series would not have a fifth season, after only five episodes of the fourth season had aired. CBS cancelled it but would broadcast the final nine episodes. Many believed this was due to the way CBS scheduled the show. The series first aired in September during its first season and continued to be pushed later in the year in subsequent seasons. In its fourth season, it did not premiere until April, nearly a year after the third season ended.
