  2. #002

Toward the end of the series, during a mostly dialogue-free musical montage, several regular characters are seen developing their 4400 abilities. Because this largely happened silently, viewers were somewhat confused about exactly what these powers entailed, so the series creators cleared up some of that confusion with DVD extras. For example, Meghan's power, first shown when she turns a pen into a flower, is more broadly the ability to transform inorganic matter into organic matter; despite some confusing camera work implying otherwise, Jed's power is not to make another person look like him but to now have a fully formed extra copy of himself; and Marco's power is to teleport into any spot in a picture he looks at.

  3. #003

In the DVD extras, the series producers admit they never planned to give Jordan Collier a name with the same initials as Jesus Christ. The character was originally going to be named Jordan Garfield, but that name failed the legal clearance procedure that all Hollywood scripts must pass, and so the surname "Collier" was a last-minute change made simply because it passed legal review.

For the show's advertising, stock images were purchased from various stock photo agencies to create the various people shown as part of the 4400 missing persons. This was most likely to avoid paying various actors for the use of their images in advertising.
