Wanda's hair was originally planned to be blue, but it was changed to pink so that it would not blend into the walls of Timmy's bedroom.

Timmy's pink hat was originally going to be blue, but while designing the character, Butch Hartman's blue pencil ran out of ink, so he grabbed a random pink pencil to color it. The in-universe explanation given for Timmy's pink hat in the series is that Timmy's parents were expecting a girl and therefore bought all pink clothing, including a pink hat.
