Tyler (Victor Browne) refers to the Graboids as "Jurassic Park wannabe bastards!" Tippett Studios not only created the CGI effects for the Graboids in Tremors II: Aftershocks (1996) but also worked on Jurassic Park (1993). Additionally, Nancy's daughter Mindi was played by actress Ariana Richards in Tremors (1990) and Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (2001). Ariana is probably best known for her role as Lex (John Hammond's granddaughter) in Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997).

Graboids emit an extremely rotten odor; people generally say the living ones smell worse than the dead ones. Because Graboids live entirely underground, they have no anus; instead, all bodily waste is expelled through their mouths and the glands that produce their slime, creating the creature's distinctive overwhelming stench of putrid, decaying meat. Graboids swallow their food whole and have an intense, fast-acting digestive system. Since they have no method of excreting waste, they regularly vomit undigested matter and solid waste as decaying residue. Their skin and tentacles are covered in a foul-smelling mucus that reduces friction and helps them "swim" rapidly through loose soil. This slime consists of liquid waste, essentially making it Graboid urine.

Michael Gross does not appear in the penultimate episode, The Sounds of Silence (2003), or the series finale, The Key (2003). Gross was absent from these final two episodes due to a scheduling conflict with Universal Studios. Universal wanted to begin filming Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2004) immediately after Gross signed his contract, so they moved the shooting date forward and absolutely refused to delay production for the few weeks needed to finish the series. This also meant that director S. S. Wilson had to leave work on the final two episodes in order to begin filming Tremors 4.
