Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky Is Not Just a Literary Writer
A writer whose books contain literature, philosophy, psychology and manifesto.
- Literature: Since every book written is literature, Dostoevsky's works are literature too.
- Philosophy: In his books he makes room for philosophy, he does philosophy. Especially his last book, The Brothers Karamazov, is the book of philosophy.
- Psychology: His works contain, as it were, psychological analyses. The father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, says of Dostoevsky, "If there had been no Dostoevsky, psychoanalysis would have had to wait a little."
- Manifesto: His last book, The Brothers Karamazov, is, as it were, the manifesto of "how to live".
- Realism: Every book Dostoevsky wrote is realistic. In Crime and Punishment, he makes you feel as if the events really happened.
- Atmosphere: His books have a very deep and real atmosphere. The ambience is magnificent.
- Character analyses: I have not seen a writer who does character analyses better than him.
- Depth: In my opinion, Notes from Underground is the deepest novel ever written. His other books are also exceedingly deep.
