When Tiffany finds a diamond ring in her home after Chucky's death, she states that they have been together for years and that she believed he wanted to marry her. Chucky later tells her, however, that he stole the ring from a woman he killed and that he never considered marrying Tiffany. The film shows that he is simply selfish and never thought about a domestic life. A later film, however, reveals another reason: Chucky was in love with another woman around the time he died. This is shown in Curse of Chucky (2013) and explained to the female protagonist, who is obsessed with her mother.
