During a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" session in June 2014, Krumholtz revealed that he had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer several years earlier and that his thyroid was removed during treatment. He said he has struggled to control his weight since then, but that there has been no recurrence of cancer so far.
