   Before he began his wrestling career, Nathan Jones was sentenced to 16 years in Boggo Road Gaol in 1987, at the age of 18, for eight armed robberies, two of which took place in Tasmania between 1985 and 1987. During the robberies he became one of Australia's most wanted men, and he served seven years in a maximum-security prison. In 1994, Jones was granted a one-year work release before his discharge at the age of 25. It was in prison that he was introduced to powerlifting.
