In 2004, Parker and Stone portrayed another sitting dictator, North Korea's Kim Jong-il, in their film Team America: World Police (2004). Two days after the premiere, they sent a copy to the North Korean government.

Parker's nickname, Trey, comes from his original name, Randolph Severn Parker III. He is the third person in the family to carry the same name, and Trey means "three" in some languages. On South Park (1997), he voices "Stan Marsh" and Stan's father "Randy Marsh," among other characters. Parker gave Stan's parents the same names and occupations as his own parents (Sharon and Randy).
