The Godfather - The Best Film in Cinema History
The Godfather is one of the two works we could send to aliens, along with The Brothers Karamazov, if they had to form an opinion about how humans understand art. The film is a work of art that is quite difficult to surpass artistically. By artistry here, I mean aesthetic feelings and the understanding of beauty. It makes the audience feel magnificent emotions. It is one of the rare films that proceeds along the same line from beginning to end, never breaking it, keeping its tempo in the same place.
In this film (the first film), the actor who plays Don Vito Corleone, Marlon Brando, has given the best acting performance in cinema history. As someone who generally doesn't like Marlon Brando and, apart from The Godfather, has only watched Apocalypse Now, Marlon Brando is one of the most difficult actors to work with in a team. He puts the team through incredible difficulties. However, I also have a hearsay that he first plays a fake performance for a director, and in the other he plays his real performance. In a work where the director likes the fake performance more, he supposedly tortures the director. I don't know how true it is.
The Godfather is also a way for men to see the realities of life.
The sentence "A man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man" is one of the main ideas of The Godfather, The Godfather: Part II, and The Godfather: Part III. However, it would be wrong to keep the series, especially the first film, only around this main idea.
The film is extremely natural and fluent. Every death scene, if you watch carefully, is exactly the same as in real life. From this, I convey my congratulations to Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo. Another of the film's successes is Marlon Brando.
I give the film a high score, because it is a film that stands at the very top of the art of cinema. In the world of games Batman: Arkham City, in the world of literature The Brothers Karamazov, in the world of television Breaking Bad, and in cinema The Godfather are the works at the very top of these four branches of art.
