Isn't the world's plant life strange? All sorts of tropical fruits can grow in it. For example, I ate a dragon fruit one day, I think it was a tropical fruit, and it made me nauseous. Because it had no taste at all. Something with no taste made me nauseous. Fruits and vegetables grow all over the world, but we aren't even aware of some of them. Actually, that kind of information could add some color to the film.

I don't know about James D'Arcy's acting among those who've played Sherlock Holmes, but Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock is better than Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock. Here I'm saying Sherlock is better in terms of comparing a series and a film rather than the role. In terms of acting, the better a job a writer, director, producer, screenwriter does, the more the actors hit it big. Maybe Robert Downey Jr. is the better Sherlock actor, but the Sherlock series may be what made Benedict Cumberbatch hit it bigger. A director can turn a good script into a bad film, and a bad script into a good film. The director can make an actor or break him.

Despite the Avengers going back in time to Asgard in 2013 and New York in 2012, Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) do not have a scene together.

It's hard to understand why Anthony Hopkins acted in a film like this. Hopkins is a good actor, he has good films in his past. But films like Avengers, Spiderman, Superman are industrial films that serve popular culture, that analyze the cinema audience well and play to the majority. That's why I see an actor like Anthony Hopkins (who also knows quality, since he watched Breaking Bad and wrote Bryan Cranston a fan letter) acting in films like this as a blow to his career.

As a director, screenwriter and actor, I'd want to work with the same team — not always, but mostly. Because if I like a team, it means I've managed to get the film idea in my head across well. And that will make the team do their job properly. It'll show on the film. As a director, if you can hand the edit, the script, the story, the idea, the narrative in your head over to the team, and the team takes it and makes it even better, then you can work with that team on other projects too. Here it's fair to say the composer did his job too, because he's scored four separate Marvel films.

The North American release date was moved up a week earlier, from May 3 to April 26, 2019, after the first trailer and title were released on December 7, 2018. There was much speculation that Marvel Studios would do this, as they moved Avengers: Infinity War (2018)'s release up a week as well, in order to reduce the possibility of major plot leaks from countries that released the film earlier.

There's an incredible interest in comic book character films. Comic book characters have always been around, but since the early 2010s Bollywood has tried to show the comic book world more in cinema and create a cultural shift. And it succeeded. Now everyone wants to watch superheroes and comic book characters like crazy.
Whereas I have three comic book products I could really call quality:
1) Batman: Arkham Asylum (game 1)
2) Batman: Arkham City (game 2)
Batman: Animated series (animated series)
The comic books and superheroes in today's cinema are heading toward cinema being used industrially. The producers don't care what you think about those films. What they look at is box office records.

Concept artist Jerad Marantz unveiled new concept art showing off several unused versions of the Mad Titan Thanos's armor. "Here's my early design pass on Warrior Thanos for Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War (2018)," Marantz wrote. "In this design I went a bit more spartan and got some good traction with the Russo Brothers. Though I do like this version, I am very proud of the final armor design. I feel like it was a good call and that the armor I designed in film matched Thanos's character much more than in this pass. You can catch this work and more in the art of Endgame book. So many incredible pieces in there from so many insanely talented artists." In a separate post, Marantz revealed updated armor with a bulkier look, writing, "Close to final design for Thanos's warrior armor in [Endgame] and [Infinity War]. From the waist up the design is what showed up in the film. I changed up the armor on the legs and the loincloth and swapped out the weapon. This was an incredible challenge."

I'm looking at interesting facts like these, and they're all things planned for ages 9-18. I don't think an adult would trade superheroes for a film like Scarface. The film may be good, it may appeal to adults too, but you're just an audience statistic to the producer.
Art isn't this, cinema shouldn't be used for such cheap things. Recently I read that a director was trashing superhero films. Even though I don't like his style, Martin Scorsese says superhero films undermine the art of cinema.

The first poster released featured Okoye, but did not include Danai Gurira's name among the rest of the cast members' names at the top of the poster. That poster was quickly recalled and replaced with one that did include her name.

Shortcomings on the marketing side. You produce the film, put up the money, find the actors, get the script written, get it directed — but fall short on marketing. That's a mistake that shouldn't happen on films with budgets this big.

Avatar is an average film. It's a film everyone can understand and watch. Resorting to such methods to beat Avatar's worldwide box office record already tells you something about the film. Almost all fantasy and comedy films, except (Pulp Fiction), are films made for nothing, containing nothing about art, aesthetics or beauty. Even action films are more watchable.

Films not being released on DVD anymore is largely a bad thing. People might want things they can hold in their hands, that they can physically touch. There used to be collectors of this stuff. But in probably thirty years' time old DVDs will be worth a lot more. Just like how collecting old Pokemon tazos is worth thousands of dollars.

Once Upon a Time in the West is a much-loved western that Sergio Leone made in the 1960s. It wouldn't be right to see it as just a western, because he put his own distinctive touches into it too. That film is a narrative. It's a story. So it can't be put on the same level as today's films. Sergio Leone's Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo in particular is among the 10 best films of all time. That film is of a quality that can't be compared with any comic book or superhero movie.

Shot back-to-back with Avengers: Infinity War (2018) over a period of 200 days.

The focus is on the film. My guess is the schedule was set first, then the editing and the script, and after that filming was done each day according to the papers. From what I can see, this was a film that required a long shoot, and two hundred days without a break is no small number.
